Mobile Scaffolding Safety Guidelines & Assembly Protocols
Standard operating procedures, pre-erection site audits, load distribution limits, and environmental safety protocols for all Safe Height aluminum mobile towers.
Pre-Erection & Ground Inspection Checklist
Perform mandatory site check prior to erecting scaffolding tiers
Ground Firmness & Gradient
Ensure the ground surface is firm, dry, and capable of bearing full tower load + live crew weight. Maximum slope angle must not exceed 1.0 degree.
Caster Wheel Brake Lock
All 4 dual-brake swivel caster wheels must be locked firmly in place before crew members mount the scaffolding frame. Never relocate towers with personnel on board.
Outrigger Stabilizer Extension
Telescopic outriggers must be attached at platform heights above 2.5m. Extend outriggers symmetrically at 45-degree angles with foot pads firmly pressed against the floor.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
All erectors and platform operators must wear EN 397 industrial safety helmets, anti-slip boots, and EN 361 full-body harness tied to designated anchor points.
Advance Guardrail (AGR) Erection Protocol
Prevent fall hazards during frame assembly
Under EN 1004-1:2020 standards, operators must NEVER stand on an unprotected platform level. Safe Height advance guardrails allow guardrail frames and diagonal braces to be positioned from the lower tier before ascending:
- Level 1 Assembly: Insert caster wheels into base ladder frames and lock wheel brakes. Attach horizontal bottom braces to square the structure.
- AGR Placement: Hook advance guardrail units onto the next frame rung from ground level before climbing.
- Trapdoor Hatch Ascent: Climb internally through the trapdoor platform hatch—never ascend on the outer frame structure.
- Toe-Board Fitting: Install 150mm perimeter toe-boards along all four working platform edges to prevent tools from slipping off.
Wind Speed Limits & Emergency Weather Protocols
Outdoor operational threshold guidelines
45 km/h ( Beaufort Scale 6 ) Maximum Operational Cut-Off
Cease all platform operations when wind speeds exceed 45 km/h (12.5 m/s).
